"tell me what... What is the soul of a man?"
Welcome!! My name is Alexander McNa. If you've found your way to my site you know me well or want to know me better.
If I had to sum myself up one word it would be eclectic. I have a diverse range or interests and passions and am quite versatile across a number of disciplines from the hard sciences to the liberal and creative arts.
In December of 2017 I completed an accelerated BSN program through the University of Northern Colorado. I am currently diligently studying to prepare to take the NCLEX early February 2018. I also hold a previous double major from the University of Colorado - Boulder in Anthropology and Journalism.
Finishing nursing school is the terminus of some lofty goals I set for myself back in 2013. I am excited to start work as a licensed RN. New goals on the horizon are focused on a pathway towards CRNA school. I aim to be an exceptional critical care nurse and am currently looking for a nurse residency program on a step-down or progressive care unit. Most recently I completed my nursing practicum on the Observation Unit at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, WA. I am currently looking for work in the area while I prepare for the next step on my journey: passing the NCLEX.
Nursing brings me much satisfaction. I enjoy the hands-on physical nature of the work and being able to interact and forge relationships with patients each day. Nursing is a rewarding career that is challenging on many fronts. Some interests of mine include evidence-based practice, nursing research, and therapeutic communication. In my spare time I occasionally blog about my journey into nursing which can be found on “The Journey Within” tab. In the future I am looking to continue writing with ambitions to freelance and influence innovation in the field of nursing.
